Top 5: Doctor Who Episodes

These are my top 5 episodes of the new series of doctor who.

1. Turn Left
Donna expriences her timeline if she had never have met the Doctor. A real showcase for Catherine Tate who delivers an amazing performance, interesting to see a different version of events over the previous four series. Rose's return is somewhat dull and dodgy accent. And the mother of all cliffhangers makes my hair stand on end everytime.....

2. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
This two parter sees the doc and rose land in London during the blitz and involves a spooky child in a gas mask, 'are you my mummy?' This erie two parter is one of the best stories of the new run. The introduction of Captain Jack adds a new fun element to the show.

3. School Reunion
The doc, rose and mickey bump into the doctors former companion Sarah Jane Smith. Its a resonable fun episode, but the reason i enjoyed was the return of Elizabeth Sladen. Great to see her character again and have some classic nostalgia.

4. Utopia
Captain Jacks returns and the return of an old foe. Not a great story, but it all cultimates in a great performance by Derek Jacobi. Some funny banter between Jack, Martha and the doctor.

5. The Stolen Earth/Journeys End
Allthough its a hectic episode its great to see all the characters making an appearance. On repeat viewing it makes more sense and is a good way to end the series.

Overall, i seem to enjoy episodes that have a good plot but some light hearted banter. Particuarly, i seem to find it better with more than 2 people in the Tardis, and this is my big hope for the new series......
